A few weeks ago, we brought you the story of a couple who were killed by a drunk driver. The loss struck at the hearts of the local motorcycling community and the couple’s children, but their son had a message of hope. He hoped that if just one person could learn from this tragedy—and avoid drinking and driving—then his parents would not have died in vain. Well, the fighting attorneys here at the McArthur Law Firm have a couple of ideas that may help do just that.
Have You Been Drinking And Need A Lift?
Recently, Uber came to Macon, offering cheaper travelling options for people trying to get around town, but did you know that Uber has a reputation for reducing drunk driving incidents in the cities it operates in? It looks like people have been using Uber to avoid drinking and driving, and though results may vary from city to city, anything that helps reduce crashes in Macon is a big plus for our community. However, Macon has always had options to get around town after a night on the town.
The Airmen Of Georgia Have Got You Covered
The airmen at Robins Air Force Base (RAFB) started a program to help reduce DUIs, and it’s called Airmen Against Drunk Driving (AADD). The program serves dependents and civilians that have a Department of Defense ID card, and they service a 30-mile radius around RAFB. If you have been drinking and need a ride home, you can call 478-222-0013 and a vehicle will come to pick you up!
Administrators warn that this service is no taxi or Uber ride, so it should only be used as an alternative for when plans fall through. Even so, it’s good to know that there are alternatives to drinking and driving out in our community. Do you have any special tricks for avoiding drinking and driving?
