Has a Wrongful Death Ruling Finally Ended this Celebrity Tragedy?

mcarthur-logo-m-icon2.pngIn August of 2015, family members said goodbye to Bobbi Kristina Brown-daughter of Bobby Brown and the late Whitney Houston. Months earlier, she had been found unconscious and face down in a bathtub full of water. After being rushed to the hospital, doctors tried their best to revive her, but she remained in a coma until her passing. Family members were stricken with grief, but for more than just Kristina's passing.

A Celebrity Tragedy, and a Wrongful Death Ruling

Not long after Bobbi Kristina had been taken to the hospital, her family declared that the incident was no accident. They claimed that the woman's live-in partner-Nick Gordon-had done something to harm her. So, the family immediately filed a wrongful death lawsuit.

They accused Gordon of getting into a physical confrontation with Brown. During that confrontation, they think that he hurt the woman and then put her in the bathtub. The suit goes on to allege that he also injected Brown with several toxic chemicals.

When summoned to court, Gordon failed to appear twice. This has led to a Fulton County Superior Court judge ruling that Nick Gordon was legally responsible for Brown's death. In light of that ruling, the court further found that the Brown estate was owed $36 million by Gordon.

The court found that Gordon was responsible for money that vanished from Bobbi Kristina's accounts, rings that were allegedly stolen, and damages caused by the alleged assault and battery. The Bobbi Kristina's family says that they feel justice was done in the court, but there is more to be done. Bobby Brown urged the district attorney's office to press criminal charges against Gordon.

Do you think there is anything else the Georgia courts can do for this family? Why didn't Nick Gordon show up in court to defend himself?
