Despite retiring from boxing in 2014, the five-time heavyweight champion has since stayed in the limelight. In addition to being actively involved in charitable organizations throughout 2015, the 53-year-old was the subject of an ESPN documentary and starred in Prostate Cancer Foundation public service

announcements. Here are 5 reasons why Holyfield won 2015:

1. Prostate Cancer Awareness. In 2015, the Prostate Cancer Foundation began launching PSAs that featured Holyfield encouraging African-American men to go to the doctor for prostate cancer screenings regularly. Black men are more than twice as likely to develop the disease than any other type of cancer.
2. ESPN documentary. In November, as part of its 30-for-30series of sports documentaries, ESPN premiered Chasing Tyson, which chronicles Holyfield’s two dramatic bouts with Mike Tyson. The critically-acclaimed film, which is now available on Netflix, also examines why so many years went by before Holyfield and Tyson finally met in the ring.
3. Football star son commits to UGA. Evander’s son Elijah Holyfield now is a football player at the University of Georgia. Elijah, a four-star recruit and a Rivals 100 top prospect for the Class of 2016, made the announcement in September. Elijah had 32 offers, including major football schools like Alabama and Auburn, but chose to stay here in Georgia and play for the Bulldogs.
4. The Voice and Rachael Ray Show appearances. Holyfield made an appearance on an episode of the hit TV show The Voice in September to support contestant Regina Love. The soulful singer used to be signed to Holyfield’s now-defunct record label ‘Real Deal Records.’ In November, celebrity chef Rachael Ray brought her TV show to a boxing gym in Detroit, where Holyfield, the surprise guest, visited with dozens of children involved in the gym’s after-school youth program. The kids were thrilled to see Holyfield as he shared stories from the beginning of his boxing career. Ray presented the Downtown Boxing Gym with a new kitchen featuring $50,000 worth of appliances.
5. Boys & Girls Club of America Honor. Actor Denzel Washington, the Boys & Girls Club of America National Spokesperson, presented Holyfield with the 2015 Champion of Youth Award in November at the Great Futures Gala. Among the most prestigious honors given by Boys & Girls Club of America, the Champion of Youth Awardis given to an individual who has gone above and beyond in service and commitment to youth at the clubs throughout the country. Holyfield took boxing lessons as a child at a Boys & Girls Club chapter in Atlanta and attributes much of his success to the support and encouragement he received there.
